We have had a fun, but busy few weeks in the Phonics Pad exploring different games and activities to help us learn digraphs and trigraphs so that we can develop our reading and writing skills at home and in school.
Playing Roll A Sound Game. After matching the dice to the sound the children had to think of their own words that had that digraph or trigraph and write them on a white board.
The children worked very hard segmenting the words and listening for the digraphs ai and ee and the trigraph ure before matching the words to the pictures. Together they then thought very hard for different words containing the 3 sounds and using their segmentation skills they wrote them on the back of the worksheet.
Well done to everyone who has worked so hard this half term learning their phonics and using all this great learning in their lessons.
More fun with phonics after half term!
What a great game Mrs Roden.
