1CE open their Memory Box

Our very first topic in Year 1 was called ‘Memory Box’  and we made our very own Memory Box.  Throughout the year we have added different pieces of work to the box and today we opened the box and shared our memories of Year 1- what a fantastic year we’ve had!

On The Edge Trip

30 lucky children had the opportunity to go to The MAC and The Rep last week to watch two fantastic shows!

The children behaved perfectly and were a credit to the school and yourselves. It was a pleasure to take them out on this wonderful day.

Sports Day

What a fantastic time we had at Sports Day yesterday, everyone tried really hard at all the different events, well done!

A special thank you to Mr Holland for organising Sports Day.

Woodland Crowns

We have had lot’s of fun creating our our very own woodland crowns using leaves, grass and tiny wild flowers. The children were all crowned king or queens of their woodland choice. Ask your child what their new title is 😉.

Building Animal Shelters.

During a Design and Technology lesson the children worked cooperatively in small groups to build either a bird’s nest or a hedgehog house. Once the children had agreed on what they would build they used various sized sticks and twigs, different shaped leaves, moss, feathers and other natural objects collected on their recent woodland visit to create and build their shelters. Have a look at the pictures below to see how creative the children were in designing and building their shelters.
